This is getting out of hand. The FA are looking to investigate Haaland after he reacted to that awful decision yesterday. He only tweeted “wtf” as well. Didn’t go on a mad cry baby rant like Arteta did when the decision yesterday was a lot worse.
So players literally aren’t allowed react/show emotion when officials make such stupid mistakes? This is such a huge problem and why this keeps happening. Referees are protected. They have zero accountability. The sport we all love literally is dying. This season has been one of the lowest seasons we have had and the officials really are ruining it once and for all.
It is totally ridiculous. I don’t understand where the empowerment of referee body came from. Respect does not come from mouth but act. Obviously there is no convincing performance by referees not only in current season, but also in previous seasons that cost points of many clubs!
Three match ban incoming
I’d argue that football is a sport where players reactions aren’t that limited in all honest. You wouldn’t see half the stuff players do with referees in sports like Rugby or Cricket.
When players go over the top then they might get fines - I think United and Arsenal have one for crowding the referee this season. Haaland probably won’t be punished for his tweet - players have done worse and it’s been fine so it’s just paper speculation.
Im afraid you simply aren’t allowed to scream in a refs face like that.
This is such an ironically overdramatic post. If Haaland shouted “fuck off” or something of the sort (which is what I’ve seen reported, correct me if I’m wrong) then he absolutely should be reprimanded for it.
Whether they get these decisions right or wrong these referees are human beings trying (admittedly sometimes not successfully) to do their job and they shouldn’t have giant Norwegian man babies screaming obscenities in their faces.
The referees are also human and will make mistakes in the same way Haaland missed some easy chances
If you let every player and manager start piling onto refs after every error it’s just going to open them up to abuse.
I’m sure his behaviour on the pitch is also behind a potential charge. Don’t abuse refs or question their decision making.
