I was hoping for something a little more meaningful and permanent, like if your car with FSD is totaled, you can transfer it to your next Tesla, not just in quarter 3. It makes me not want to buy FSD.
Currently FSD has approximately zero resale value. Maybe sometime in the future that might change. Burt anyway it sure would be an incentive to buy another tesla if my fsd license belonged to me and not the car, and better yet if I could optionally transfer (resell) my license on my own terms.

100%. Also, if I’m reading this right, by doing the transfer you’re also agreeing to let Tesla revoke it once you sell the vehicle to a new owner.
So you’re giving up the future resale value of the feature anyway… is that right? Doesn’t sound like a good deal.

As if there wasn’t already plenty of reasons not to.
Yup, this needs to be a thing, licensed for the person, not for the vehicle.
