In the last few years I have purchased a pressure cooker and an air fryer. They both waste electricity by having an off light. Furthermore they act like red nightlights and my kitchen has an eerie red glow at night. What is the actual purpose for off lights besides to waste electricity?

Maybe just unplug them and put them away so they aren’t sitting out getting dirty? Unless, of course, you use the appliance every day. I highly doubt you’re using a pressure cooker every day, but I could see the need to leave the air fryer out. Just plug it in when you use it and unplug it when you’re done. It’ll protect your appliance from power surges, too.
