If the US ever favoured peace and stability it would have had the 2-state solution done in the 1990s. The US always wanted the conflict to be a managed conflict, but never ending.
While the US has its stated policy, it cannot interfere with sovereign authority without unilateral justification. A 2 state solution needs agreement from Palestinians and Israelis alike. I truly hope this can come to fruition to end the needless loss of life.

Putin waited until after the Olympics to invade a soverign nation because he knew the optics to the international community were bad. He’s lost an impressive number of troops and has relegated his country to a fraction of the sphere of influence it once was. Truly a sad result, of a bad decision, which largely falls on a populous that deserves better governance.

The UN charter gives them the right to self determination. As a Russian minority in a majority-Ukrainian state they have the right to do so.
