Gotta love how libs keep harping on about “Oh yeah, if you love Palestine so much, just know that they hate gays/women/etc and you would be mistreated by them!” while pretending that the West is some progressive utopia. It really isn’t. The imperial core thinks of marginalized groups as useful idiots for propaganda. They don’t care about us and we’ll be offed by our ‘own side’ as much as the ‘enemy’

To be clear, women in the military (US military at least, as that’s where my personal experience is) have significant challenges and are not infrequently forced to take evasive action. And they go unheard too often.

But what goes on even in the worst of the combat arms environment in the most gutteral of services within US DoD is absolutely minimal compared to what women endure in everyday life across large parts of the ‘developing world’

Any woman walking alone in the street in Kabul is at high risk for assault and rape. If it’s a 50/50 chance every time she steps out, that would be favorable, in that location.

Other places are not quite so dire, but across a large part of the world, everyday life is risky for many women in many places.

IDF has significant cultural issues as a military service, and there are horrific individual stories, but it’s nothing on the order of living in as desperate and brutal conditions that many Palestinians (and Palestinian women) are forced to endure.

Nah, you don’t get it wrong. It doesn’t matter if Russia and the Hamas is using raping as a war strategy. And it doesn’t matter if gays get executed in Saudi Arabia.

Because in the West military women sometimes experience sexual harassment.
