Hey folks!
Lemmy 0.19 was released this week! It brings a bunch of awesome new features, so I hope you are all willing to forgive some downtime in order to upgrade to this latest version.
Unfortunately some migration will be necessary as part of this upgrade, so it might take a while, but I will try to keep it as short as possible.
I hope you are all having a great holiday period, and I will see you soon in 0.19!
Edit: Update complete!
Welcome to 0.19! Unfortunately, the upgrade took somewhat longer than usual, but I believe everything is in order now. As always, please let me know if you notice anything strange, and have fun!
My account wouldn’t validate any more in Jerboa, so I logged out, cleared my cache, and now the app crashes when I attempt to log in.
My other accounts are working, though. Not sure if it’s a lemm.ee problem or a Jerboa problem at this point.
I had a similar issue in Boost, but logging out and back in fixed it. There was an update a couple weeks ago that fixed logging in on 0.19 instances. Looks like Jerboa got a fix as well.
That’s the problem though. I can’t log back in because the app is crashing. Logging into other instances is fine.
That one was a Jerboa problem for me, installing the latest version from the GitHub seems to have fixed the login crashing for me
The version on the play store is not current, or at least, it wasn’t when I last checked. You need at least 0.51, I think. If the play store is still out-of-date, you can grab the latest and manually install it from here.
It did eventually update and the app is working with lemm.ee now.
How’s it performing for you? Are you having the same issues as I am? I get a loooooooot of “socket timeout” and “posts failed loading” errors. Also, the “Show Read Posts” setting no longer works at all, even on the website.
So far, just the normal amount of timeouts and post load failures. I don’t normally hide read posts, so I have not tried that feature.
Lol, “the normal amount”, did you normally have those kinds of errors, before 0.19? I sure didn’t.
Yes, but I think it’s server dependent. Lemm.ee and lemmy.world have been fine.
Yes, it’s server-dependent, and lemm.ee is the server giving me a lot of trouble the never used to.
