I would like to see those contracts, but we never seem to. It is my understanding that the team does pay the city to use the stadium, so there is direct income back to the government that owns it. Whether it offsets the cost to build and infrastructure improvements and all of that is a great question, but I never feel like we have all of the information.
Personally I think the sports franchises should build their own stadiums, but that train left the station long ago. So I’d at least like to better understand the actual deal the government is getting.
