Yes, and it sucks when it happens, but I had the literal exact opposite happen to me just earlier today. Someone I really liked was hurting, and somehow the turmoil I was feeling crystalized, as if magic, into exactly the right words. It was like seeing the dice tumble and come to rest on 20 in slow motion. Charisma check passed, and I saw a weight lift from their shoulders as all the support surging in my heart reached out and took on some of the load for them before my eyes. I wanted to hug them, but a squeeze on the shoulder was all that was appropriate. Seeing them smile again was so beautiful it almost made me ache. What an excellent way to end my day, and now I can go to sleep feeling like I accomplished something special. ^_
