Hi, I have a nice little plant which I’m quite proud of, because I still suck at this. It’s a “wedding crasher” from RQS and so far I’ve trained and scrogged it. It’s been in veg for about two months and now it’s been blooming for around two weeks. I’ve noticed that it stopped smelling, like at all. I can open the box without any smell coming at me. Even when I put my nose against one of the buds I get a very faint smell. It did smell for a while, before and after triggering the bloom. I’m quite worried because I had one plant during the summer which was severely heat stressed and it also didn’t smell very much. It sucked so bad I didn’t even smoke it.

I think I might have overdone it with the nutrients, at least thats the most common suggestion on the internet. I used Advanced Nutrients grow, micro, bloom with addons, without really keeping a schedule. Every watering (1,5l of water) I’ve added at most 4ml of bases and 3ml of addons. Last two waterings however went in without any nutrients and it’s pretty much the same. There is no nutrient burn on the leaves, and I don’t really see any worrying signs. Humidity is at around 45% during the day and around 60% during the night, temps are 23/20℃. It averages around 1500ppm of co2 because it’s winter and I keep my windows closed.

Do you have any suggestions as to what might be wrong?

    I wouldn’t worry about it some plants don’t smell much. I finally started smelling my current grow 5 weeks after flip when they started to stack up. My pet theory is that unsmelly strains were selected for by breeders during prohibition to aid stealth grows. Not all strains are like that though i think it was my Bubba Kush last run that was just loud as fuck even in veg

      I’m aware there are strains which are more covert, and that really is welcome when you don’t want everyone of your neighbors to know what you’re up to, but zero smell is kinda weird. I’ll keep feeding it and monitoring how it does. Thanks for the reply!

    This looks like a pretty happy plant. Nutrient issues should be showing up as burn in the leaves. I do DWC, so I’m not sure if your mix is right, but double check it and keep an eye on your leaves.

    Your VPD is really low at night though, and maybe even a little low during the day. Your plant will really want to uptake nutrients right now but with that temp humidity combo you’re likely slowing your growth down significantly. I bet that if you keep your VPD up a little higher you’ll find that the smell comes back. The easiest way to do that right now will be a dehumidifier. You’ll wanna keep an eye on it because it’s a really delicate balance and if your watering schedule and nutrient mix aren’t right you can hurt your grow more easily.

      Thanks, you might be up to something here. The humidity is quite high because I’m not airing my place out as much. The upside is a lot of co2 (as I mentioned) which boosted the growth when the plant was mostly leaves and didn’t want to evaporate as much water. Now that the buds came along the surface area increases dramatically and the plant can’t push enough water out. I’ll put some dehumidifier into the tent today and will watch humidity levels through the night.
