A centre in Eryri that has trained generations of mountain instructors is at risk of closure, a North Wales MS fears. Senedd Member Sam Rowlands said he was concerned for the facility’s future after it lost a vital source of funding.

Based in Capel Curig, Conwy, Mountain Training Cymru (MTC) was established in 1964 to train future mountain leaders, instructors and coaches. For the past six decades, the centre has also promoted good practice among the mountaineering community within Wales.
