This is a victory in a long fight, not just against blanket police surveillance, but also against a culture in which private, for-profit companies build special tools to allow law enforcement to more easily access companies’ users and their data—all of which ultimately undermine their customers’ trust.
There’s sunglasses/face masks which have a reflective UV coating, only visible by cameras like a huge glare. Protesters in HK used them to cover their faces.
Because of shit like this I do cover my face a lot of the time, and living where I live there are cameras everywhere. But covering my face/obscuring it with anything has a pretty limited effect, seeing as it’s my house being monitored. Who else would be coming and going, y’know? I hate it

Yeah, privacy should be a human right, but as long as US lawmakers are lining their pocket with lobbied ad company bribes, that’s not gonna happen…
As for the EU, I’m sure this will be implemented soon enough.
