I don’t watch much cable news but whenever I see it on, there’s coverage of this. The radio show I listen to touches on multiple facets of it daily… seems like we live in different eco systems.

This is the beauty of not consuming any MSM: you can believe it has said or not said anything you need it to have in order to confirm your beliefs.

Granted i don’t bother with much mainstream media myself so I guess I’m saying it in a way that of the parts of mainstream media that often bubble up their way to me, I’ve not really heard much recently

Huh? You’re saying you’re not seeing something you’re not watching… What kinda argument are you making then?

You’re just admitting your silo doesn’t include this massively reported on story…

Seek out alternative perspectives maybe? I try to at least hear both sides even if one is absurd.

What I’m saying is that even if you stray away from mainstream media, it still makes it way to you via word of mouth, looking at headlines walking by the shops, a relative left the tv on the news, that sort of thing.

Usually these sort of big world issues get through no matter what. It did initially but not so much anymore. Like as if it’s just background noise so no one actively talks about it anymore.

I watch CNN while riding the bike at the gym, it’s on pretty much every time I’m there.

NBC plays on the TV in the lunch room at work, when I’m in there it’s on often enough people change the channel.

Those are pretty well watched stations. I don’t watch Fox but considering it’s a chance for them to paint brown people as evil, I’m pretty sure they cover it too.

People’s attention spans are microscopic these days for sure but I’m still seeing it as of yesterday at the office and this morning on CNN so you’re either stuck in an echo chamber or you’re doing a better job than me of avoiding it.

What mainstream media are you referring to exactly?

Or perhaps you’re trying to say that US media is silent on it? Because there’s a lot more news organisation’s than just US ones.

BBC make online articles about everything and anything. I guess they would be considered mainstream but I was specifically thinking outside of the internet. But I’m just making excuses now so it doesn’t really matter, guess I’ve just not seen as much as others have recently or just not realised the sources for what I have seen.
