The Republicans weren’t able to pass an impeachment vote. Came down to every last available vote, with one Republican who might have voted to impeach missing the vote due to cancer treatment

A 2-vote margin like that means that one person on the losing side flipped their vote at the last minute so that they have the procedural right to call for another vote later.

No. In this case the Dems had the numbers without the extra vote. It wouldn’t have been a vote against it wouldn’t have been registered so it would be a one vote margin rather than two. Typically I think you’d be right but the extra R vote is what carried.
