do any off the Lemmy or kbin apps provide a way to browse instances other than your own? kind of like filtering for “local” posts but local to another federated instance.

I’ve subscribed to communities from other instances once I find ones I like. but the only way I can “find” them it’s if I see an interesting post when I filter for “all” posts - what some other site might refer to as a post making it to the front page

I guess I could hunt from a web browser to do that, but I’d rather not have to switch between apps to do that

Which app(s) are you using? I don’t have an answer to your question, but I’m interested in hearing which apps are good on Android. I alternate between several apps (Voyager, Liftoff, Connect, Thunder) because I frequently get freezing, and I’m not sure if it’s something with my phone and tablet, something with the apps, or something with the Lemmy servers I’m accessing.

so, I’ve got a bunch I’m cycling through including thunder, connect, jeroba, lemmontif and liftoff.

for no great reason I could explain, I find myself using thunder most often. but, with the apps and the platform getting updates so frequently, I don’t see myself selling down to one app and time soon
