i watched two shows on that list.

mushi-shi: i’ve seen it twice. i think i probably consider it a near masterpiece. the only anime that i can confidently call a masterpiece is the original ‘berserk,’ which i favor even more than my favorite live action movie or series. i would probably rank ‘mushi-shi’ as number two on my top anime list, and then probably ‘cowboy bebop’ at number three.

monster: i know many people regard it very highly, so it’s worth a try, but for me it didn’t leave a big impression, but was interesting enough to finish, which is a compliment because it is long.

12 Kingdoms is probably one my favorites - the character development is outstanding, the world feels very dense. It feels a lot closer to “high fantasy” compared to some of the isekais I’ve watched. That said, the animation does show its age.

Eden of the East was also very good - the main guy is pretty fascinating, and I got excited to unravel more of the mystery (though I feel like I was left with a lot of questions at the end) Animation is beautiful, and the original opening was amazing: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4pdqeu9LW2c

I think they lost to the rights to the song though, so current streaming services might have a different opener

I remember being pretty intensely bored by Last Exile. It was a long time ago though. The only thing I really remember besides being bored is that the animation was top notch.

Mushi-Shi and Monster were undeniably great. Monster does go on a bit though.

Monster!!! So fucking well made and so tense and it’s fun watching the mystery unravel.
