    Sometimes 1911s just do shitty things because it’s a design that’s been obsolete for 50+ years. If you don’t want to spend a ton of time and money tuning it to run juuuuuuuuuust right with whatever load you’re using to make major power factor, and you want something that’s just going to work, get a Glock in .40 S&W.

    I’m saying this as someone with a high-capacity 1911 in 10mm and .40S&W. The last match I was at, I got to really practice my tap-rack-bang drills, pretty much every other stage, and that’s with a light recoil spring, new magazines, and .40 S&W loaded close to maximum charge. Yeah, I like it, but it’s not actually reliable, and ya gotta clean it a lot.
