t.meAn aggressive media campaign supporting a muslim, one Md. Faiz Khan, is being noticed. Mr. Khan is walking from Chandkhuri, Chandigarh to Ayodhya to add soil of land of Shri Ram's ancestors (from his mother Kausalya's side) to the foundations of the proposed Ram Mandir at Shri Ram's birthplace - a dharmic ritual.
The campaign, through multiple news media outlets, indicates that the man in question is a prominent office holder of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's (RSS, or just, the Sangh) Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM), that he is a long time gausevak who heads the cow-cell of MRM, and that he will cover nearly 800 km afoot in 12 days. His car accompanies him and they are scheduled to reach Ram Mandir on 4th of August.
The problem?
This has riled up emotions of Hindu trads, at least on social media. They see this as political pushing of secular optics and having no place in the pious atmosphere of founding a temple - or in internal affairs of the Hindu religion.
Note that the original Ram Mandir was destroyed and descreted by emperor Aurangzeb centuries ago and to get the Ram mandir reconstructed, Hindu stakeholders have fought a costly, lengthy, bitter and bloody battle on multiple fronts and won it through a legal case last year - a case against muslims.
