K-9 mail
Nice
Soon to be Thunderbird!
I switched to K9 because Gmail started serving malicious, half-screen ads in their Android client. Slowly moving my whole life to ProtonMail.
i don’t trust protonmail, either.
I mean that’s fair, you can’t trust anyone but yourself, your best bet is to self-host and hope your emails get accepted. Then again, I don’t trust myself to securely set up my own email host.
Email is generally considered the one thing you never want to self host, so that hope is doing a lot of heavy lifting.
Why don’t you trust protonmail?
they say they’re secure, but they don’t educate the normies about how the security works. they hide all the encryption tools behind a interface that could be doing anything. I use PGP and auto crypt. I’ve asked my protonmail friends to give me their keys. I don’t get them. I have sent them encrypted email, with auto crypt headers, and what they send back is plain text.
whatever security protonmail provides doesn’t actually apply to email.
and then there’s this.

Yes, whenever that Thunderbird transition actually happens! I use Thunderbird on desktop, so I’m looking forward to seeing how that goes, but it’s been a long time since it was announced, and is there even a date established?
I’m a little confused as well, I think it’s already under the Thunderbird team’s control, but they haven’t re-branded yet?
That is correct. The K-9 dev has been with the Thunderbird team for a while now and the project repo is thunderbird-android. Don’t know when the rebrand is coming.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate this absolutely brilliant title
:3
I don’t even get that spam, like there is no point in sending just emojies or ?
A ZWNJ is a zero-width non-joiner, probably abused to format / align their email correctly but not rendered in the notification.
I thought non-breaking space ( ) was translated to Polish or something
God we learned “tricks” like this in my HTML class. Last year. Just in case you’re wondering why shit like this is still around.
“tricks” as in “cheating that will bite you in the ass later”.
More likely it’s an attempt to get the preview text a lot of mailboxes show to not show extra content.
Meaning they want you to see “terms and conditions updates lulumon” and not “terms and conditions updates lulumon hello there isVeryLoud, we have upd…”
