I am looking into upgrading my current gaming laptop in the near future and, after having a switch for a while, I’ve realized that portability is a key feature for a guy with kids. So the steam deck has obviously jumped onto my radar. However, how accessible or functional is it for someone who’s fairly casual about the hardware side of PC gaming? I bought a prebuilt rig as my first rig about a decade ago and upgraded that with a prebuilt laptop. I see lots of posts of people modding and upgrading their decks and I want to know how necessary that is because that is way over my head. Same question goes for the OS and software side. Most of my games are on Steam or Gog or blizzard and I’m interested in emulation. Thanks!
