    The threat of legal reprecussion and the resulting amount of moderation required to protect their ass guarantees one result.

    They shut down.

    YouTube, Facebook already pay as little as possible to moderation…they’d need an ARMY to clean up those comment sections. Reddit famously exploits everyone’s need for a third space to get free labor, we already know they won’t pay.

    If the idea is to kill the Internet, unless yr shopping online, this would do it. Wouldn’t surprise me. Ruling parties historically don’t like the proles freely associating.
