    From my reading of this, there were originally over 40 LGBTQ+ poison-pill typer riders in this bill far worse than this, this is the only one that remains; while it still isn’t great the others were far more impactful on people’s day-to-day lives, it’s only through September, and it’s pretty easy to bypass by draping it from the building, painting it on surfaces, placing them on desks, etc.

      And this has no mechanism for enforcement. (And looking closer, only covers procurement, it doesn’t ban flying of flags previously obtained, donated or privately furnished).

        Yeah, it just says that the state department can’t pay for it. Anyone working there, however, can. And they can also be donated.

          And the State Department can just break the rule if they want to. What is Congress going to do? Sue them over buying a flag?

          Buy a few of them and put them up. Then dare Republicans to sue over it. The Justice Department is going to be on the State Department’s side. The House will have… who?
