I was (un)lucky enough to have two Xbox controllers get stick drift within a couple weeks of each other. I’m not mad - I played the heck out of these things. I replaced one of them with a nice “velocity green” controller and, for the second, found an incredible deal on Amazon for the 8BitDo Ultimate.

It’s a wired controller, which worried me because I don’t sit terribly close to my TV, but the cable is almost 10 feet long.

The quality is really nice. It’s noticeably slightly smaller than the original controller, but it feels good. There is an app to customize everything about it, but I haven’t felt it necessary to play with it yet.

I’d be interested if anybody has experience with this or other third party controllers, especially to see how they hold up over time (and if they get such bad stick drift!).

I’ve never been a fan of the third party stuff mostly, but wanted to share that I’ve had many xbox controllers in the past through console upgrades, and I’ve been very fortunate to only have one controller develop stick drift (it was the Project Scorpio controller too 😭). At that time we still had the Microsoft store, so I just simply went in (even though it was past warranty) and they swapped it out for me. I wish they brought back the Microsoft store in Canada 😞

I’ve always had terrible experiences with 3rd party accessories. I’m very happy that this is the first exception!!
