I think it’s looking like the two sets of Baltimore and Tampa as well as Texas and Houston will each win a division winner and a wild card spot. So, the Jays are fighting for the 3rd wild card (which fortunately would face whoever comes out of the Central), which they currently hold, against Boston (1.5 games back), Anaheim (3 GB), Seattle (3.5 GB), and NYY (3.5 GB). Hold the line!
DeJong made good time here! I didn’t think he’d start today. It must be kind of nice for the red-bird-turned-blue-birds. Not because they’re more comfortable playing for another bird team versus a different kind of franchise mascot (lol), but because they have some old teammates (ie, familiar faces) here. All 3 new players we got at the deadline came via separate trades with the Cardinals
We got gifted one tonight, let’s take it and move on. Not sure where we can go with this offence but let’s take it one day at a time…
It’s been an entertaining game at the 7th inning stretch and I could see the Jays winning this one!
A pick-off walk-off, how 'bout that? ⚾️
My wishlist for tonight’s game
- Jays win ✅
- Springer gets a hit ✅
- Vladdy gets an RBI
- DeJong makes a great defensive play at SS
1-0 in the DeJong era!
