    Yes. The job is at a literal church. Any work place that is religious in nature (churches, religious schools, etc) in the USA typically have exceptions under discrimination laws.

      Knew a girl who worked her way from a receptionist job to management at a Christian retreat camp. She’s been there for probably fifteen years now. Paid very well, good benefits. She’s an atheist. Had no problem simply lying and pretending. They loved her.

    “Applicants, employees and former employees are protected from employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, or gender identity), national origin, age (40 or older), disability and genetic information (including family medical history).” Seems like religion is a protected class.
