The way that America relies on pure memorization for pretty much everything is ridiculous. It gives some people who are good at that an advantage even if they severely lack critical thinking or intelligence while those with poor memory and the neurodivergent suffer. The other thing that annoys me is when people equate good memory to smart and or memory to dumb regardless of the person’s reasoning or decisions and judge based on that

Also punishes kids for not spending an additional part time job of work after school doing hw and studying when they just went through a whole job with of work at school
