    This is why I have no faith in AM becoming a top team. Lance is good enough to be a F1 driver, but he isn’t good enough to be a championship winning driver. Even if AM had the best car on the grid, they couldn’t win the WCC because Lance would still struggle to get the necessary points.

    Building the team around your weakest link means the team will never be strong.

      At least they’re smart enough to make sure they don’t pair him with a weaker driver.

      It’s always been their plan - it’s in his statement/ title. I’m sure it’s more disappointing than anything else, kinda like how some companies take the route of using the funders money for management comfort (e.g sailing into retirement) vs actually achieving something (like a wdc). Surely the team members (aside from lance) will feel the same way.

      It’s a good thing the Honda deal was set up before admitting this.

      Honda will be paid by AMR GP. That’s why they won’t have a say in drivers and probably also rather limited brand exposure.
