I would like to learn more about these tendencies, can you recommend any texts that describe those?
In my view, it’s never wrong to start with wikipedia:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neozapatismo
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_confederalism
It’ll give you a good idea of names to look up at the very least. I don’t know much more than that and would be curious to see what people can suggest.
Yeah, I actually got a text on democratif confederalism from ocalan, but still would like some nice essay/book introducing neo-zapatismo with some nitty-gritty of how they organize etc.
When I search “zapatismo,” I get little. When I search “frente zapatista” or “ejercito zapatista,” I get a lot, in Spanish. Wikipedia in Spanish says the Frente disbanded in 2005, & now they’re all Ejército. (No wonder AMLO was able to push through Tren Maya.) Neo-zapatismo seems to be an (unarmed?) continuation of zapatismo. Over the years, there have been many sympathetic articles. Internet Archive has a collection. https://archive.org/search?query=zapatismo Spanish Wikipedia gives some info different from English Wikipedia. Both places have bibliographies. Since zapatismo has been interesting to the academic left for a long time, you can find a lot on Google Scholar. Check out The Nation and JSTOR. Subcomandante Marcos has a book in print https://www.startpage.com/do/dsearch?query=Marcos%2C+S.+(2007).+The+Speed+of+Dreams%3A+Selected+Writings%2C+2001-2007.+City+Lights.&cat=web&pl=ext-chrome&language=english&extVersion=1.1.2
