The Water Magician: Arc 1 Volume 1 - From the get go the series seems to strive for a more scientific approach to the isekai genre. I also like that there is no numerical level or somesuch. MC’s progress is measured by comparing how he fared against previous encounters. I wish more series would do that. Those uncreative videogame-like stat systems are always such a downer. And another notch goes in the pro-column for the way MC is written. Nine out of 10 times I find Chuuni characters hair tearingly annoying but here MC is written in a way that makes him endearing. What I didn’t like was the banter between MC and the sidekick on the other hand. It feels like the author tried to force some MCU-like banter into the story where it doesn’t fit. MC just lived 20+ years as a hermit and the moment another human turns up they are riffing off each other like they grew up together. I miss some build-up of their relationship here. Their closeness (for lack of a better word) feels unearned to me. - 7/10

Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear Vol. 17 and 18 - There’s not much to say about this volume. After all, this is the 17th Kuma³ Bear and I leave y’all with a quote by the unmatched David Byrne: “Same as it ever was, same as it ever was…” - 7/10

Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire vol 8 - I have cought a cold over the weekend and I had a bit of spare time to read, so I have picked it up again. I have lost memory of all the characters, but mid way through it kinda clicked. There was tying up some plot line from previous volume but after that the mega boss fight was epic. Chris still has hers main shtick and after a long break its still funny. 7/10
