    In the Netherlands the intersections sense bicycles coming and try to give you a green light before you even slow down to stop. This is because a typical intersection can fit many more bikes through faster than cars. Bikes are prioritised for this reason. Cars have low priority because they’re slow, unwieldy, and inefficient. Besides, if your trip were important, you would have ridden your bike like a normal person.
