Can we go back to gambling being illegal? Can’t watch any sports nowadays without the constant prattling about betting apps.

I’m not a big sports person, but I put those in the same category as pharmaceutical ads and like that they exist. Both are products I have zero interest in consuming and they pay to subsidize the TV that I watch. I’d be much more concerned if the ads were for products I might actually be a consumer of, as the power of advertising is real.

My only concern about the pervasive gambling is that there are populations that are being targeted. On one hand I want them protected from that, but on the other hand those people are adults and its not my business to decide how they choose to spend their money, so I err on the side of letting them choose for themselves.

They definitely are, but the ones that’s irked me lately is the UFL. The gambling sponsors are so integrated that they have the gambling stats on the screen the whole game and the commentators are constantly using the gambling lingo.

I’m looking at the price of cable and specifically NFL Sunday ticket and you still get ads. If they are actually subsidized then it ain’t much IMO. I’ll continue to watch the free versions without ads.
