G.M. produces the Malibu at a plant in Fairfax, Kan., and will continue to manufacture the car until later this year, when it plans to retool the factory to make a new version of the Chevrolet Bolt, an electric car, and the Cadillac XT4, a luxury S.U.V.

AFFORDABLE sedan. So potential Malibu owners will likely move to one of the Crossover SUVs. Camaro base price is $32,495. The Equinox is only about $1,500 more than a Malibu. Trailblazer is actually $2,000 LESS. Trax is $5K less.
The Crossover SUV has been replacing sedans as the vehicle of choice for years now.
