Since you find it hard to use reading comprehension in a political game when discussing in game politics I’ll try to help.

Between the three options of NCR run Vegas, Independent Vegas, and Vegas ruled by Caesars legion. An independent Vegas run by the autocratic Mr. House would be the best bet for the region in my personal opinion. This is because House wants nothing more than to rebuild civilization and return to his playboy lifestyle and is willing to drag the rest of the wasteland forward to get it Please tell me where I ever said that. I like it. I said he’s got that going for him which is nice. That means it’s better than the other two alternatives as at least the end goal is progress and improved living conditions for a majority of the wasteland It doesn’t mean I particularly like it. If Edwin Robert house decides that you are a threat to his empire, then you will be eliminated or made a non threat. That’s that. However, as long as you are not a threat and you are a standard citizen of the wasteland, he literally gives less than a rat’s ass about you and will never intervene with whatever you’re doing. So if we were doing the political compass he would be far right bottom corner. https://youtu.be/AhiR0OWKTws

If you want to tell me how it would be better run under The NCR . Please tell me how you’re going to get anything done through the cattle barons and the corrupt senate.

The “liberty” offered by anarcho capitalists extends only as far as it allows them to make more money. When he gets his robot army, what, exactly, do you think he will do with it?

Also, just an FYI: if House wasn’t a member of the Enclave, and that’s a big if, it’s only because he wasn’t a team player or got betrayed on the launch date.

His endgoal was exactly the same and his business interests were closely tied with the other mega corps.

I was literally just pointing out that he’s a dictator, but you like him. The satire part was specifically in reference to the assertion that he wasn’t/isn’t an autocrat which I find laughable. I wasn’t and didn’t comment on whether he was the best choice for the Mojave, or who was and a such I genuinely don’t see the relevance of rehashing the sociopolitical context of the game.

Bud you need to work on your reading comprehension .I never said he wasn’t a dictator. What are you going off on. What do you think an autocrat is?

I said the choice between two dictators and a corrupt democracy was the one dictator that bent strongly libertarian.

Well I’m not talking about the fundraiser specifically. Just the Vegas Sphere in general.

Apart form it being a total eyesore. It is nothing but a colossal, all enveloping ad. That’s all it is and can ever be. A total mocking display of current day capitalism. I feel so bad for all the people being forced every night to view this glorified neon-billboard.

Ah yes, the sphere, before they put that monstrosity up Vegas was a shining beacon of anti consumption, fighting the tenets of capitalism one casino at a time. Definitely a current day thing, no history of anything of this sort in Vegas.

Alright touché. But I much rather have an ad working from the inside (aka a casino) than an ad working from the outside. Bottom line: Las Vegas, once again, just a got a little worse to live in.

The inequality of wealth for the American people. Who needs this giant 24/7 neon advertiser? Each year it’s getting more difficult to make ends meet. Especially for a city in a desert you would think a better investment ought to go to water or poverty instances.

But no, look at the pretty lights, isn’t that cool for about an hour? Well have fun looking at this shit from your single-room poverty apartment for as long as you can still live in Vegas.

Genuinely, this could be good marketing for the TV show that Amazon could do - would just have to make it clear somehow that Mr. House wasn’t involved in the show.

This thread contains spoilers for The fallout TV show. Stop reading now. If you haven’t seen the show, this is your warning.

I mean he literally was in the show though, and seeing that the teaser for season 2 is literally New Vegas… Well, the current state of the NCR says that they probably didn’t win at Hoover dam. And the fact that there’s still lights on say that it’s probably not Caesar’s legion that won either.

Bethesda and the show runners themselves have said that Shady Sands destruction came only months after the war for the Dam which the NCR won. The show itself also mentions that Shady Sands was basically revenge for them winning the Hoover Dam. But we know not which faction nuked 'em. Enclave? Brotherhood? The Legion (which would be weird since they don’t use technology)? House? Possibly even Benny/Yes Man/player protagonist character.

Edit: Oh man… They could even write it as a gigantic joke; Shady Sands coincidentally was wiped off the map shortly after the events of NV by Fantastic when he accidentally activated the Archimedes II orbital cannon inside Helios One.

Unless I misunderstood the show, it was very directly stated that the overseer had nuked shady sands as an act of fuck you to his ex-wife.

Basically, how dare you find a functional community outside of my control. I will reduce it to ashes that way I am the only option.

My understanding was that but it wasn’t because of his ex more so that any successful civ would undermine the concept of his vault recolonizing the world.

I agree with your sentiment, but I think it’s about 50% of each. Though honestly, it’s really bothered me this entire time that shady sands is literally a vault community. It’s vault. 13. Literally vault wellers having a reclamation day and rebuilding the surface.

yeah but the ncr includes regular surface dwellers too. probably the idea is more like that of the enclave in fallout 3; wipe out all the “mutants” and repopulate from there

Yeah some justification that he needed to do it so eventually him and the rest of the ceos from the vault could take over and half that he was vindictive prick and wanted his wife ( the ghoul Lucy mercy kills that’s chained to the table at the end) to have nothing and to be without any respite now that she had forsaken his control and the vault
