On a new livestream Thursday, Witcher author Andrzej Sapkowski said that he’s working on another book in the series, which would be the first one in a decade.

The livestream was an interview with Sapkowski and Ukrainian fans organized by Fantastic Talk(s). Sapkowski’s comments on the stream, as translated by Witcher fan site Redanian Intelligence, reveal that he’s been hard at work on the new story for some time now.

“Yes, I’m working on a new Witcher book and quite diligently,” Sapkowski said.

The good news is, the book doesn’t seem far away. Sapkowski seemed optimistic about the timing, saying that “it may take a year, but no longer.”

I wonder if this means we will get another season of the show and another game. That’s what I’m excited for (I’m illiterate).

Didn’t CDPR already say they were making 3 more games in the Witcher universe? As well as remaking the first one I believe

They are planning another season of the show, but it won’t have Henry Cavill (the guy who plays Geralt) because he’s a fan of the series and doesn’t like how the show has gone, with it being so different from the books.

Yeah season 3 wraps up with Henry Cavill, then season 4 will start with Thor’s brother taking on the role of Geralt.

because he’s a fan of the series and doesn’t like how the show has gone, with it being so different from the books.

This is likely true, but also not the whole story. The show runners also reportedly don’t like Cavill, and not just because he constantly speaks out against the show going in different directions to the source material but they also apparently resent the popularity he brings to “their” show.
