Seems weird to present this like its in Walmarts favor. An average person can handwrite 8 words per minute, so even handwriting and not typing earns money at about twice the rate.
Just googling the average journalist takes 1-2 hours to write a 1000 word article.
This does explain why every news article is five times longer than it needs to be though.
That and now most of them are just AI LLM articles.
Starting wage at Walmart in the boonies of MO is $21 an hour. Not great but you should get your facts right before publishing an article about it, even if the article is AI bullshit.
