      I think what he was saying is that he fully understands a team focusing on a driver that will stay with them rather than on the one who will leave to another team next season.

        It’s a bit of a defeatist thing to say/imply, though. Sainz will be gone from Ferrari next year, but he’s beaten Leclerc in qualifying, twice.
