It basically says that “classic style gameplay” doesn’t work for the franchise because of the lowering player numbers and “feedback from Reddit”. That’s already enough to claim it’s bs.

“Anything Halo Infinite has done will be ignored and Halo 5 is the blueprint that Project Halo 7 (tentative title) will be built on.” Mmm yes let’s build a game based on H5, the one that was received so poorly it caused them to go back to classic styled.

All abilities from H5 will be back and includes double jump and wall running. Come on, you’re just taking ideas from Titanfall.

This bit is the icing on the cake. “The goal of the campaign’s story is to be “the true Halo 6” after the nonsense that was Halo Infinite.” I find it hard to believe that someone would think that Infinite was more nonsense than 5.

Rest of it is just prometheans returning but nerfed and no banished but from the first point you can tell this is bs, I just felt like sharing it

I find it hard to believe that someone would think that Infinite was more nonsense than 5.

I 1000% share the sentiment that Infinite is an abomination that should be ignored. Halo 5 wasn’t great. But the gameplay was fantastic and the story left off at a really interesting spot. Even though bringing back Cortana was a mistake, I thought resolving the evil Cortana conflict off screen was a crime.

Also, I’m not sure what classic style gameplay means. Infinite felt like I was playing Titanfall.

I must respectfully disagree. Classic Halo gameplay, such as the gameplay found in Halo CE-3 is timeless.

Infinite was a step in the right direction, particularly in the art department, but it ultimately still missed the mark for decidedly “Halo” gameplay. Not necessarily an “abomination,” but it isn’t particularly good either. Also, the open world design hurt the game. Not enough map variation, and non-curated encounters that felt stale and repetitive.

Halo 5 had perhaps the worst art style I think I have ever seen given the original games’ direction. Halo 5s gameplay also did not feel like Halo. It felt like Call of Duty or Apex Legends, or some other fast paced shooter. Not Halo. Halo 4 had abyssmal multiplayer, so Halo 5 was a slight improvement compared to Halo 4 but it was too different from Halo CE-3. Particularly, Halo 3 is universally agreed upon as the best one. Why stray so far from that formula that worked, as Halo 5 did? Well its obvious, developers that created Halo 4 and Halo 5 " are people that hate Halo." Yes, thats a real quote from 343i. People that hate Halo aren’t going to make the Halo they work on feel like Halo, and many of them were former CoD developers.

Halo 5s campaign was not up to par compared to the Bungie Halo games. The writing was passable to bad, the marketing was completely different from the actual game. And don’t even get me started on how Blue Team was treated. 4 missions to play as Master Chief? Really? How about "we arent going to launch without splitscreen again? That one didn’t work out too well for Bonnie Ross when they broke that promise instantly in their next game, did it? And good riddance she’s gone.

Also, Locke. Locke maybe wouldn’t have been so bad if he kept his helmet on and learned to shut up and let his body language do most of the talking. Instead, his helmet was off his head about as much as Jimmy Rings’ helmet was in the TV show (actually the worst thing 343i has done with Halo, hands down), to the point that every time he started talking I was practically taking my headphones off.

REQ packs. I won’t go any further on this topic, as I am sure you remember everything, especially the video telling everyone complaining about it to “shut [their] pie-hole.”

I can agree that Infinite does not feel like Halo, but I must disagree with the statement that Halo 5 was any good. In my opinion, ALL of 343is Halo games are subpar, with Infinite being the only one with the most amount of good points.

The worst thing Infinite did was erase Halo 5’s setup. The Guardians was a cool stand-in for Halo. The Prometheans were actually fun to fight finally. The 343 guns felt good finally. Warzone was fun. Cortana was a good villain, even if bringing her back was a mistake. More Buck.

Chasing John for 70% of the game for no reason was bullshit. It actually makes me think the ads did match the story at one point. Teams should have been minimized (especially without split-screen). The art-direction was, whatever. Bringing back Cortana was a mistake. The movement actually felt good (better than any other games Halo 5 is compared to), but maybe not really Halo-like. But more so than zip-lining.

None of that had to carry over to Halo 6 though, except for Cortana which should have had a fulfilling conclusion. Instead, they scrapped everything good they had from Halo 5. You get generic at best bosses, repetitive set pieces, no story, an open world antagonistic to vehicle free roaming, Buck is gone, Titanfall zip-lining, no story, a sub-par multiplayer with little to no base content, still no assassinations, player clipping, armor cores, etc. Challenge swap is literally just charging you and admitting that their system sucks. I would have taken REQ packs again in a heartbeat over what we ended up with (though their pie-hole comments were not well advised). And ODST should have been a blueprint for an open world Halo game. They could have had real levels as flashbacks.

To me, Infinite is the only Halo game that is a net negative. Hence, ignoring it entirely would be the best course.

For the record, Halo 3 is my least favorite of Bungie’s games.

That whole thing makes no sense whatsoever. At this point who knows what the next Halo will be like ? let’s give the benefit of the doubt to the new people in charge, let them work and see what happens.
