my last couple memes, I had to shrink them down until they were pretty embarrassingly bad before I could upload them. maybe I don’t know what I’m doing when it comes to reducing a file size? but it would be nice if we could upload larger files

    That’s a per-instance thing. Each instance admin configures the size of files allowed, so you’ll have to ask your admin.

      Built-in resizing of images to a certain size in-app would be nice but that might be a lot of work for not much.

        Unfortunately no, but it would be nice of the Lemmy devs made it public as part of the nodeinfo endpoint.

    Upload your stuff to catbox.moe and post the link from there.

    When you upload an image to Lemmy it is getting compressed by your Lemmy server. (Lemm.ee)
