A new study questions the coherence of the circulation in the North Atlantic Ocean, as researchers show that the Gulf Stream exists, but variations off the coast of Florida do not necessarily reach Norway.

      With melting ice caps, it was thought that the gulf stream would be pushed south. Countries like Ireland that are temperate would rapidly have temperatures drop to similar levels to Canada, as the gulf stream no longer would keep them warm.

      This paper would refute that.
