Harris has a slightly better chance at winning but everyone knows there are better candidates but can’t outright say it without Harris being on board lest the optics of bypassing a black woman look very bad.

But let’s face it: Harris has a patronizing, condescending quality to her that will be tough to overcome with battleground swing voters. Vibes of an aunt who drank just a bit too much at Thanksgiving dinner. This is why someone like Michelle Obama or dare I say Oprah has far better public reception. (not saying either will happen or are even necessarily better, but just to make a point).

If they go with Harris, a lot will ride on her VP pick to drum up excitement.

      My preference would be Whitmer.

Yeah, the party needs to really, really avoid looking like they are just applying DEI for anointing an “heir apparent”. The backlash against DEI is mounting at the corporate level already and for the Democrats to do that would only show just how fucking tone deaf they really are as an institution.

It’d be one thing is Harris is actually the most qualified candidate that is actually the most likely to win, but I seriously doubt that is the case.

I’ll vote for a pumpkin with a D after their name if the alternative is donnie, but none of that matters; elections are decided by the low-info and they’ll fall for narratives about DEI or cackling or what have you. I hate this, but it’s true.
