The job market sucks so bad right now. My youngest put in an application to wash dishes part time in the small town we live in and they got 32 applications for it. They hired my kid because my kid did yard work for them a few years back and didn’t interview any of the other 31 people.

I remember when I was young everybody had help wanted signs out because you couldn’t hire anyone.

Sigh… “Small town and shit job market” This has been an ongoing trend for centuries. It’s the major reason for the ongoing trend of urbanization around the world. Labor shortages or oversupply in specific location or fields is constant.

In urban areas, the concentration of people and employers, historically has allowed for a better job market.

The long-term effect of this population means that a high percentage of people living in rural are whiny scared people who are highly resistant to change.

        You’ve met my neighbors? Weird.

But at least they announce how scared they are by saying they’re brave to wave a Trump flag…

It took me 6 months to get a graveyard shift stocking job in 2020/2021, indeed said there were a ton of applicants to all the positions that I applied for. That was applying across the metro area I live in.
