It makes my heart hurt to think most Israeli’s (and countless Americans - conservatives mostly) don’t care about this.
As a humanist, this sort of thing just guts me. Humans have such a huge capacity - and even propensity - for compassion… Why is it that despite this so many have become callous and even cruel?
Mr. Rogers passed on to us the wisdom of his mother to always look for the helpers. Where are the helpers in Israel? I’m seriously asking. Have there been protests that the world isn’t seeing? Are people upset over there at the genocide their country is committing?
The United States has done wretched things, but at least these were occompanied (and perhaps ultimately countered by) protests and good people fighting the evil infecting our socio political systems.
Where are the good people in Israel? I want to hear them, or hear of them, if they are being silenced.
