Increased mistrust of the US medical profession and higher mortality rates are consequences of the low numbers of Black doctors. A massive gift to Black medical colleges may help build those numbers.
As an RN I would jump at the chance to become a doctor. But that also mean going through six years of college again. Which I have no interest in. I am just glad I can contract out and go where the money is. But that is the capitalist in me.
Medical school is only 4 years unless you get a phd on top. The residencies are 3+ years. And they’re extremely expensive which only adds to the nepotism
Sorry, but I won’t be saying where I’m at for residency because it would then be very easy to dox me. There are very few residents at any given program
Medical training in the US is rife with nepotism. It’s extremely frustrating to see especially when the nepo babies are shitty individuals

In the US it is 6 for doctors. For nurses its LPN at 1 and RN at 2.
No, US med school is 4 years graduate education, vs the Commonwealth model which is 6 years undergraduate.
No, its 4 years of undergrad followed by 4 years of medical school followed by 3+ of residency. Source: I went to med school in the states
I went to be an RN and did mine in 2 but of course there were no semesters it was a full year spring summer fall. Where are you stationed at?

Oh sorry your just at one place. Sorry for asking no sarcasm.
