At that price point, I would be looking for pre-owned iPhones. Why iphone? Because they keep updating their software longer than any other manufacturer.

A used phone. New budget phones are generally pretty bad, so I would recommend something like a Pixel 6/6a or a Galaxy S20/S21.

Avoid Samsung, especially if it’s over a year old. Pixels are pretty much the only Android phones worth buying. Malware is to old Androids what mosquitoes are to stagnant water. Pixels have longer support than any other Android brand, and they have a lot of custom ROM options for keeping it alive after Google abandons them.

Or just get an old iPhone. Apple supports those basically forever.

The Galaxy S21 and newer also have 4 years of updates, which is almost as good as a Pixel.

At this price point, I’d probably recommend either the Samsung Galaxy A23 or A14, or the Nokia G60 or G42.

€250 is a hard price point but a Samsung A series is probably going to give the best performance for the money.

My vote goes to the Realme 10 or one of the Motorola Edge. Both are really solid choices.
