Milwaukee Police will once again be in the halls of MPS schools. It is required under the state’s shared revenue plan passed by lawmakers this summer.

It’s good for several reasons to have police officers back in the schools:

  • The officers get to establish a rapport with the students.
  • The students have people they can go to if they have issues.
  • The officers get to know who the troublemakers are.
  • The police are right there in case there’s a fight or other issue they need to respond to.
