By branding homosexuals as sexual deviants, they make it easier for people to other them, to prepare for the eventual application of the death penalty (because who’d stand with the deviants anyways?)

Those to are not interchangeable. The terms homosexual and sexual deviant are 2 entirely different things one is a somewhat common form of attraction the other enjoys being shat on.
