(posting to both communities)

A carnist lemmy world instance admin has stepped in and meatsplained to the mods while restoring comments that violated the community’s rules. They deleted comments that they did not agree with, citing ‘misinformation’, and threatened to demod the mods if those comments were removed again. The comments were deleted and the admin was banned from the community as per violating the rules of the community, that was until they unbanned themselves (admin abuse) and unmodded two of the moderators because of “promoting harmfull actions against pets”.

As far as it stands, if the lemmy world community wasn’t already not a safe vegan place for you (it really wasn’t) it most certainly isn’t now as carnists (lemmy world instance admin) currently mod it.

I suggest any vegan who wants a safe and welcoming space to come and interact with vegantheoryclub.org. Sorry for any inconvienance that this may have caused. I am deeply upset at the admins actions today and don’t condone them whatsoever.

I had already added !vegan@hexbear.net to the sidebar of the lemmyworld community a while back, but I just added a link to it on this community’s sidebar as it was absent. This community and the one on hexbear are the only two vegan places I can recommend on lemmy right now.

Thanks for that. Not everyone on Hexbear is perfectly vegan, but there’s a hard no fucking with the vegans, even outside the vegan community rule. It’s explicit that leftists should aspire to be vegan. We’re not perfect, but we’re the best not full vegan community I’ve been part of.

        Yeh, I’ve read your CoC.

Animal Liberation is essential to any leftist movement, including platforms like Hexbear. Volunteers, comments, and posts, should not be anti-vegan, although users and volunteers are not required to be vegan.

I think it’s a good rule to have

        As well as

Any pictures of food containing animal products, including but not limited to meat, cheese, or egg, must be tagged nsfw along with food discussion content warnings (CW: Food).

I’d also like to keep !vegan@lemmy.ml a carnist/pickme-free space. It’s not very active either, and I’ll def encourage ppl to use your instance as it’s a vegan controlled space, but we gotta do our best.

Vegans and animal comrades of the world unite!
