I feel like 99% of our history is just “were a bunch of shitheads” and the other 1% are the random discoveries and useful inventions.
There were American who traveled to Germany so they could serve in the Wehrmacht and SS. We have no idea how many of them returned to the US after the war.
Hell there were thousands of Americans who joined a Nazi rally in NYC! They just continued being Americans.
