That was probably prompted by Toto thinking Williams might get sick of Sargeant and seeing it as a chance to get Kimi some F1 experience before he (most likely) jumps in the Merc next season.
At this point it seems Williams finally are sick of Logan, but not only is Kimi 18 now but the name floated for the seat is apparently Schumacher or Lawson. So the rules change was doubly pointless, but for future super prospects I suppose it’s nice that they too can get in the car at 17. Perhaps Max’s “youngest driver” record will one day be broken, after all.
He turned 18 yesterday.
All that stuff about granting him an exception for a super licence because of his age ending up being for nothing?

Well it was good enough for FIA to change their eligibility rules lol
