@wjs018@ani.social I think you were onto something with your theory in episode 1.

Part of her was happy to be accepted for who she was, but at the same time, she wondered why she had worked so hard until this point.

Hey that’s unfair! How dare you call me out like this!

Just got a chance to watch the episode and this one had a lot of those same kinds of setups like the first episode did. Koshitan even calls it out directly:

We even got to see her take a small step towards the acceptance I talked about at the end of that post. For a somewhat satirical over-analysis of a silly deer show, I am actually pretty happy with how it has held up.

I really enjoyed this episode. It had a lot of the same chemistry going for it that the first episode did. Koshitan desperately trying to maintain a facade of normalcy while Nokotan swiftly unleashes chaos wherever possible. In addition, just like the first episode, Nokotan’s antics are completely accepted by every other character, making Koshitan be the singular “normal” POV.

I also really liked how they had Bashame getting her rice ready for next episode. The narrator already promised a rice-focused episode 10, so it is a bit of a further fourth wall break to see her getting it ready.
