Maybe it’s just me being a fairly active woman, but I just don’t get the people who shoot up steroids but don’t even bother to exercise. Like I get being really committed to having a muscular body to the detriment of your health, I’ve heard gay men talk about how they’ve chosen bodybuilding over the ability to have erections as they’ve gotten older and that makes sense to me. Having a body you like the appearance of is valuable. But what I don’t get is when you’re willing to trade your health, for it but not an hour a day in the gym and proper nutrition. And steroids do cost you your health, even testosterone when taken above male levels. Sure bodybuilding will take more than an hour, it’s a commitment, and I can even see trading your health to reduce that commitment. But the man seems to not be willing to do any amount of exercise of dietary control. Like that’s none of the benefits of getting in shape, even looking good or feeling good, just packing on mass wherever, getting hormonal disruptions to the emotions (steroids are one of the less pleasant parts of chemo), and strain on the cardiovascular and endocrine systems all to look like the least attractive child of a bodybuilder and a longshoreman.
